The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senator-elect, Ireti Kingibe, has implored her fellow contestants on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to concede defeat and join hands with her to build a vibrant Abuja.
Kingibe defeated Sen. Phillip Aduda, Zakari Angulu, among others in the February 25 general polls.
While addressing journalists yesterday in Abuja she said she would love to continue on the footprint of Senator Aduda who has held sway for over 15 years at the National Assembly.
She said: “I will also like to reach out to all the other contestants and make them understand that it is not about me, but the good of the FCT.
“If we join hands, we will move FCT to greater heights with everyone working together. I am willing to work with them to get things done.
“So, I am calling on Hon. Zakari Angulu ,and all others respective of their parties that contested with me, I am willing to work with everybody.
“I have always said that FCT should be a model for the rest of the country, and I will show that even in appointments, wishes and needs, all of them can consider me to be their senator.
“I am a senator for everybody, regardless of party, and I want them to know that that’s the message.”
As part of her reforms, she promised to
push for a mayoralty for the FCT and also push for the President to appoint a minister among the original inhabitants
“I thank everybody in the FCT especially the electorates, I am humbled by the confidence they have reposed in me, and I want to thank them personally,” she added.
