I’ll Challenge PDP’s “Bogus Victory” In Some LGAs – Kaduna Gov-Elect, Uba Sani

The Kaduna State Governor-elect, Uba Sani, has vowed to challenge what he described as the “bogus victory” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in some local government areas of the state.

Sani promised to drag the PDP to Election Petition Tribunal over the unimaginable margins of wins in some areas of the state. The governor-elect said he was surprised the PDP won in those areas with bogus figures.

Naija News reports that Sani made this disclosure when he was featured on a programme on the Hausa Service BBC.

It will be recalled that Sani was declared the winner of last Saturday’s polls in the state by the Returning Officer for Kaduna State and Vice-Chancellor of the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Professor Lawal Bilbis on Monday.

Sani polled a total of 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isa Ashiru of the PDP who polled 719,196 votes, a difference of 10,806 votes.

However, Sani has insisted that he would contest the results so that the gap of win between him and Ashiru can widen more.

He cited that areas like the Chikun local government area where the PDP got over 89,000 votes were marred with irregularities.

Sani while responding to the allegation by the PDP that the election was rigged said such allegations are in the character of the Nigerian politician, noting that ‘’God gives power to whomsoever He wants and when He wants.’’

The governor-elect however expressed confidence in victory at the Election Petition Tribunal to contest PDP’s victory in those areas, noting that he would be victorious at the Election Petition Tribunal where the opposition promised to challenge his victory.

Sani however promised the people of Kaduna state ‘’to be fair and even-handed to all, including those who didn’t vote for me. I’m glad about the outcome of the election. People came out and voted for me.”
