Jennifer Echegini handed late call-up for Super Falcons friendlies vs Haiti and New Zealand

Jennifer Onyi Echegini has been handed a late call-up to join the Super Falcons squad for the International friendlies against Haiti and New Zealand in April.

Her omission raised brows because of the key role she played in helping the Super Falcons defeat Costa Rica 1-0 and end a 7-game winless streak. Jennifer laid on the assist for Esther Okoronkwo to score the winner in the Falcons final game of the Revelation Cup in Mexico.

Jennifer Echegini assisted Esther Okoronkwo`s match winner in Nigeria`s 1-0 win over Costa Rica.

The two games are part of preparations for the World Cup bound Super Falcons. The Nigerian ladies will face Haiti at the Emir Sports Complex on April 7 before taking on World Cup co-hosts New Zealand at the Mardan Sports Complex, also in Antalya, on April 11.

The two matches are to further test the strength of Randy Waldrum tutored Falcons ahead of to this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
