Italian Serie A side Torino have confirmed Nigerian right back Ola Aina has sustained and is a doubt for their visit to Sassuolo on Monday April 3, 2023.
On thursday, Torino issued a medical bulletin announcing that the Nigeria international underwent instrumental tests which highlighted a lesion to the left soleus.
Aina 26, is a doubt for the Maroons trip to the MAPEI Stadium – Città del Tricolore (Reggio nell’Emilia) to face the Black and Greens on Monday .
The former Chelsea defender was not on duty for Nigeria in the just ended international break as he served suspension due to accumulated bookings.
Aina`s career has been held back by injuries. In October 2022, he suffered a muscle injury that kept him on the sidelines for about 3-months.
Ola Aina has made 16 Serie A appearances for Torino this season accumulating 808 minutes of playing time with a goal and assist to his name.
In their last game before the international break, the 26-year old came on for the final 15 minutes of his sides 4-0 loss to compatriot Victor Osimhen`s Napoli on March 19.
Ahead of Monday`s game, Torino are placed 11th on the Italian Serie A table with 37 points.
No date has been given for his return from the latest injury setback. This could bear huge implications on the Ola Aina`s future at Torino with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
