We played better in G’Bissau because their pitch is better than Abuja – Peseiro

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro said his players played better football in the AFCON 2023 Matchday four clash at Estadio do 24 Setembro, reports SportsRation.

The Portuguese made this statement during a postmatch interview where he assessed the Super Eagles’ performance over the legs.

Nigeria traveled to Guinea-Bissau with one goal, getting a win away from home after the Wild Dogs shocked the Super Eagles in Abuja.

And they achieved this by creating a few more chances than they did in the first leg in Abuja.

Simon Moses’s penalty was enough to hand the Super Eagles a 1-0 victory on Monday, away from home.

“I think not only today but on Friday, our team is much better than Guinea.

“Today we create many opportunities because the pitch in Guinea is much better than in Abuja.

“We had a lot of opportunities many opportunities, you lose many of the things.

“I think we deserved in the two matches to beat Guinea-Bissau, in the first leg not 1-0 but 5-1 in the first match, and today 5-0, 6-0.”

Nigeria now sits atop the group standing with 9 points.
