Prior to landing on “Chicago Fire,” actor Scott Elrod played numerous recurring characters on popular TV series, such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Men in Trees.” In the former, Elrod played Dr. William Thorpe. An Army surgeon, Dr. Thorpe was the first man Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) dated following the death of her longtime love interest Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). The two didn’t last beyond a third date, and although he told Meredith he’d wait until she was ready to make a commitment, Dr. Thorpe was never seen again.
Following his brief stint on “Chicago Fire,” Elrod appeared in the TV movie “Sun, Sand & Romance” on The Hallmark Channel and had a supporting role in the independent action film “Atone,” co-starring Robert Rusler.
According to his IMDb profile, Elrod hasn’t appeared in any acting roles since. His Instagram profile reveals he seems to have shifted gears. He currently acts as CEO of Auto Concierge, which manages vehicles as assets for their clients.
