Lava recently launched Lava Agni 2 (review) smartphone, which received a great response from the market. The response gave hope for other budget smartphone manufacturers to launch more affordable products in India. Itel has confirmed that it will soon launch a smartphone under Rs 10,000. The official website listing has revealed the upcoming device’s key specifications. Previously, 91Mobiles Hindi exclusively revealed the official render and expected price range of the device. The device has also been listed on Amazon, which confirms that the device would be sold through Amazon.
Itel S23 Key Specifications Revealed
The Amazon micro-site reveals that the device would be priced between Rs 8,000 and 8,999 for the variant with 16GB RAM. The brand claims itel S23 would be the only device with 16GB RAM under Rs 9,000. However, there is a catch, as 16GB RAM advertised by itel includes virtual RAM.
Itel calls virtual RAM Memory Fusion and will use 8GB from storage to assist the native 8GB RAM. The Amazon micro-site also reveals the official render of the smartphone. The device will be equipped with a triple-rear camera setup and will feature a camera layout similar to OnePlus 11R. itel would equip the device with a primary 50MP sensor.

The other two sensors are likely to be depth and macro, respectively. An LED flash also assists the rear cameras in improving night photography. The official render in the micro-site reveals that the power button and volume rockers are placed to the right. A USB type-C port, mono speaker grille, 3.5mm headphone jack, and primary microphone can be seen on the bottom.
Itel has also listed the device on its website, revealing further specifications. The website reveals that the device will be backed by a large 5000mAh battery which supports 10W charging. The device will be available in two variants paired with 128GB storage. 91Mobiles report claims that the company uses UFS 2.2 storage with the device.
Itel confirms that the device would launch in 4GB and 8GB variants. The smartphone would run on itel OS 8.6 out of the box. It will likely be based on the latest Android Go Edition or Android 13. Itel has equipped the device with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button and supports face unlock. Itel S23 would be available in Mystery White and Starry Black colour options.
Itel claims Mystery White features a colour-changing back panel that would change to pink under sunlight. The company has equipped the smartphone with a 6.6 inches LCD display with an HD+ resolution. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz and houses a waterdrop notch to place the selfie camera.
Itel has included an LED flash in the top bezel to improve selfies. The company also confirms that the device wouldn’t support 5G. itel hasn’t revealed the launch date of the device. The report by 91Mobiles Hindi reveals that it would be launched by mid-June.
