28-year-old Askira rides bicycle from Bauchi to see Wike in Abuja

Twenty eight-year-old  Mohammed Askira has defied the danger on Nigerian roads by riding his bicycle from Bauchi state to Abuja, just to see the  Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.  

 Askira, who spoke to our correspondent in a telephone interview from Abuja, said he did that in appreciation to the former Rivers state governor who assisted him with the scholarship to advance his studies. 

 The man, who traced his origin to Borno state but based in Bauchi said Wike is the man God used to help him achieve his continue his academic pursuit and urged leaders in the country to emulate the leadership quality in the FCT minister. 

He added that everything about what he did was predicated on the relation he had with his late boss, Alhaji Ibrahim Maisundu, through whom Wike gave him scholarship, which assisted him to reach his final year at the University of Maiduguri where he is studying Public Administration.

In his words: “l am  a final year student.  Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is my role model and mentor. Today I got to Abuja with my bicycle from Bauchi. It’s the Minister that gave me a scholarship to further my education through my late boss, Alhaja Maisundu.”
