Lindsay Hubbard‘s future on Bravo has been a topic of conversation ever since she announced her pregnancy last summer. Many fans have been wondering whether the longtime reality star will return to the Hamptons for Summer House Season 10 with her newborn daughter Gemma in tow, while others have been pushing for her to graduate to The Real Housewives of New York City.
Hubbard, who recently stopped by DECIDER’s studio along with Summer House co-star and bestie Gabby Prescod, said she’s “waiting for somebody” at Bravo to tell her where she’s going next. But no matter where that ends up being, Hubbard said she still plans to spend her summers in the Hamptons — even if it’s with pregnant RHONY star Erin Lichy, who owns a home in the New York beach community.
“Look, in regards to my summers in the Hamptons, I have been going to the Hamptons since 2007 when I was interning in the city and working in the Hamptons well before we started shooting the show,” she said. “I’m going to be out there — I’ll probably wind up at Erin’s house with our newborn kids together this summer.”
While Hubbard noted that she’s “not the decision-maker” when it comes to casting, she appeared confident that the network would find the right place for her — whether that be on another season of Summer House or a different show altogether. “What I can tell you is that I spent nine seasons proving that I make good TV,” she added. “Wherever they want me, I’m available.”
Hubbard and Prescod visited DECIDER’s studio last week, where they responded to some of Carl Radke‘s recent press, opened up about life with baby Gemma, and revealed whether they’re joining the rest of the internet in shipping Ciara Miller and her Traitors co-star Dylan Efron. Check out the full interview below.
DECIDER: I am so excited to talk to you both about all things Season 9. Lindsay, this season was obviously a little different for you and congratulations on your baby girl, Gemma. What was it like to navigate pregnant life in a party house?
LINDSAY HUBBARD: It wasn’t too bad. I’m a very hard sleeper, so for the most part, I was able to sleep through the late night music and Kyle [Cooke] DJing and whatever. But I had a lot of fun. I was in my second trimester. I had a lot of energy. I would show up each weekend and I had gotten a little bit bigger. My belly grew.
GABBY PRESCOD: It was incredibly expanding. I was like, “You cannot keep this secret.” I was like, “What was your plan?”
LINDSAY: My plan was to tell everyone.
First night, too!
LINDSAY: Yeah. I was like, “Everyone’s going to be wondering why I’m not drinking. Like, I got to just [be] out with it.” But yeah. It was really fun.
Gabby, I’m loving all the pictures and videos I’ve seen of you and baby Gemma. Have you fully embraced your auntie status? What are you most excited to show Gemma as she gets older?
GABBY: Well, we’ve already had those talks.
LINDSAY: They’ve already had the birds and the bees talk.
GABBY: We have had the birds and the bees. Gemma knows about my dating history and my sex life.
LINDSAY: All of her play dates.
GABBY: I call them play dates because it’s Rated G. And she’s three months old. I’m not going to tell a kid who I’m having sex with, but I’m excited for that. Like, she is so fiery and literally she is Lindsay, but amplified.
LINDSAY: She’s 38 years younger.
GABBY: I’m excited to have conversations with her. She’s already talking but once I can understand … She’s going to be running preschool. I can’t wait.
LINDSAY: Yeah, and Gabby’s always threatening to buy her the fanciest of clothes. I’m like, “Oh, no.”
GABBY: It’s not a threat!
LINDSAY: All of the sudden, my life got a lot more expensive just having Gabby around.
GABBY: You have a baby in New York City. That’s not on me. The expense is already there. I’m just introducing her to the finer things. And I think that there’s nothing wrong with that. She deserves it. That’s my baby.
Lindsay, I think the entire Bravo universe is living for how activated you’ve been on social media when it comes to some of Carl’s recent press. Is there anything you’d like to clear up about anything he’s said?
LINDSAY: I don’t really pay that much attention, except for when I’m watching Andy Cohen and he happens to be on. But yeah, listen, I think I just don’t really stand for the victim act. The guy broke up with me, basically dumped me at the altar two months before our wedding and then 10 months later was like, “Oh, I just wasn’t ready for her to have moved on.” It’s like, what did you think I was going to do? Like, did you expect me to show up to the summer house crying and being like, “I miss you so much?” Like, no. It seems like this guy never knew who I was. I don’t know, it’s interesting. But I just can’t stand when someone plays victim to the actions that they chose to make.
Gabby, on Watch What Happens Live, Carl said he brought more to the table this season than you did. What’s your response to that?
GABBY: Okay, sure. I mean, listen, I think looking back — and I haven’t watched any of the season yet — he probably is right or might be right, and that’s okay. I think that I was maybe going through some stuff this summer that maybe only Lindsay knew about that I wasn’t either able to share or willing to share with everyone else. And so I close up and I don’t talk about it, which is fine. But that also doesn’t make for good TV. If he feels that, that’s his opinion.
LINDSAY: He didn’t have to do much. He had his ex in the house. Like that was plenty. It’s not like he was showing up doing a whole bunch of things. He had a hot mic moment that quite frankly, not enough people picked up on, which was really fucked up of him.
GABBY: What did he say?
LINDSAY: He basically was like saying that I hid my pregnancy for so long because I thought that the world would think it’s crazy that I moved on so quickly. And that’s not why I hid my pregnancy … Actually, he should do less. Gabby’s answer is that he should probably just do less. That’s Gabby’s answer for you. He did more, he should do less. Carl, do less.
I don’t necessarily agree with Carl because Gabby, that first night you stayed out all night and you teased a little about your love life.
GABBY: Listen, I was dating internationally. There’s stuff that was definitely happening for me, but if those people who are in my life don’t want to film, I can’t control that and I’m going to respect that. I’m not going to force anyone to do this. I signed up for this. They didn’t.
Lindsay, you mentioned in a recent interview that what to do with you is top of mind over at Bravo. What do you see for your future on the network? Would you like to keep doing summers in the Hamptons? Or do you agree more with fans calling for you to join something like RHONY?
LINDSAY: I see whatever decision everyone has for me. Unfortunately, I’m not the decision-maker for where my life is going on Bravo. But I will say, look, in regards to my summers in the Hamptons, I have been going to the Hamptons since 2007 when I was interning in the city and working in the Hamptons well before we started shooting the show. I’m going to be out there — I’ll probably wind up at Erin [Lichy’s] house with our newborn kids together this summer. I don’t know. I’m waiting for somebody to tell me what my future is because I don’t make these decisions. But everyone asks me, and I’m like, “Ask the other guy!” It’s literally not up to me. But what I can tell you is that I spent nine seasons proving that I make good TV.
I think wherever you end up would be perfect.
LINDSAY: Wherever they want me, I’m available. Just call me.
GABBY: Gemma also makes amazing content, just FYI.
You could have a mother-daughter spinoff someday.
LINDSAY: Yeah, could you imagine?
GABBY: Put cameras in the preschool.
One last question. What do you think of the internet shipping Ciara and her Traitors co-star Dylan Efron? (Editor’s note: this interview was conducted before Efron revealed he has a girlfriend).
GABBY: I need to start watching this and who is Dylan Efron?
LINDSAY: Zac Efron’s brother.
GABBY: Oh, okay!
LINDSAY: I have been watching The Traitors. Love it. Great season. She hasn’t said anything to me, but I feel like Dylan is … I was on Watch What Happens Live with her and she was like, “Oh, he’s very earthy.” And it’s a little too earthy for her … You watch him, like, go up against a Housewife at a roundtable and he’s really very flushed and it’s a lot, you know?
GABBY: Maybe that’s good though.
LINDSAY: Yeah, honestly it could be good.
GABBY: Maybe it’s good. Listen, I am for whoever Ciara wants to be with.
LINDSAY: Anyone who’s not on Bravo.
GABBY: Sure. Well, whoever she wants to be with, I think that she’s very clear about what she wants in a relationship now. So if that fits her, I ship it.
