One NBA star’s brother is making headlines on the court for all the wrong reasons.
Myles Herro, the younger brother of Heat guard Tyler Herro, sparked a handshake line brawl during the Wisconsin high school basketball state playoffs Thursday.
Myles Herro’s Whitehall team lost to Waterford, 56-49, in a sectional semifinal game, but things exploded when he reached Caden Gustafson as the teams exchanged pleasantries after the final buzzer.
For reasons unknown, Herro said something and then shoved Gustafson — who was leading the Waterford handshake line — as soon as he got to him.
Gustafson, who was knocked off balance for a second, stood behind the scorer’s table with his hands out in disbelief as Herro began jawing at him.
One of Gustafson’s teammates got a few shoves in on Herro before the Whitehall guard needed to be held back by his Whitehall teammates and coaches and security stepped in.
The two teams exchanged shoves before things were de-escalated.
The 6-foot-3 Herro is a three-star recruit, according to 247 Sports, and tallied the 1,000th point in his high school career during the loss to Waterford.
He averaged 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists on 49 percent shooting from the field.
Herro has scholarship offers from Western Illinois and Cal-Poly.
His older brother, Tyler Herro, has carved out quite the NBA career for himself.
He is in his sixth season in Miami, averaging 19.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 49.8 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point range.
The Kentucky product, selected 13th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, is a one-time All-Star and won the Sixth Man of the Year for the 2021-22 season.
The middle Herro brother, Austin, just finished up his freshman season at South Carolina.
