Kevin Hart Jokes About Kanye West, Diddy and Cardi B During Monologue

Kevin Hart packed a punch in his opening monologue at the 2025 BET Awards.

The comedian joked about Kanye West, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cardi B during the award ceremony’s start at the Peacock Theater on Monday, June 9. During his monologue, Hart, 45, said he was “shutting down afterparties” following the BET Awards.

“Take your asses home after this; that’s why I did this on a Monday,” the evening’s emcee joked. “People gotta go to work tomorrow.”

Alluding to Diddy’s alleged sex parties that involved copious amounts of baby oil, Hart added, “That’s where s— gets slippery, at them goddamn afterparties. We’re learning a lot about people, ain’t we?”

Diddy, 55, is currently on trial for sex crimes among other allegations including sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Hart also joked that he got self-driving Waymo cars to take the audience home afterwards, and the passengers can’t “bribe” the nonexistent drivers.

“No yachts, no boats. Cardi B, no pink stuff. What the f—, none of that stuff. Everybody’s gonna get hit tonight. We’re live. It’s gonna be a good time.”

The “I Like It” rapper’s boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, is under investigation after a video of him having a pink, crystallized substance while on a yacht went viral.

Cardi, 32, wasn’t featured in the viral video of the New England Patriots star, but was seen in other footage of the yacht’s events on social media.

Later on in his monologue, Hart made a joke about West, 48, à la the new movie Sinners. The comedian took out his phone, pretending to check a text message from the “Gold Digger” rapper. “Oh s—, it’s Kanye,” he said. “Yep, he says he’s out front, he’s waiting for somebody to invite him in.”

“We all saw Sinners, don’t let his ass in here, so he could fight somebody, so he can fight Playboi Carti again, okay?” he quipped.

“Nobody let Kanye in, no! Not tonight!” he shouted.

West made an appearance on the 2025 Grammys red carpet in early February, where he and wife Bianca Censori posed for photos then left. Days later, West defended Diddy in an online rant in February, filled with antisemitic slurs. He was promptly dropped by his talent agency. West’s X account was also temporarily deactivated.

The BET Awards are airing live on Monday, June 9 from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on BET.
