Alex Cooper is giving her fans an inside look into her love story with her husband, Matt Kaplan, in her new docuseries Call Her Alex.

The podcast’s two-part Hulu special features footage from their nuptials, which took place last year in Riviera Maya, Mexico. In a Q&A held during the documentary’s Tribeca Festival premiere on Sunday, June 8, Cooper said they filmed her entire wedding for Call Her Alex, though most of it did not make the final cut.

“I was filming it and I’m like, ‘Okay, these people don’t need to see my whole f—— wedding,’” she said. “But it was so fun to rewatch it. I hadn’t seen the footage and when I got the footage I was like, oh my God, this is so beautiful.”

One scene that did make it through edits saw Kaplan and Cooper exchanging vows at the altar. Both the bride and groom teared up as they spoke their heartfelt words during the ceremony on April 6, 2024.

“You’re the best man I’ve ever met. You inspire me every day. You’re the most passionate about the people you love. Fiercely loyal, it’s almost scary at times,” Cooper said in the wedding clip shown in the series. “And the way you love me. It’s indescribable.”

Kaplan — a Hollywood producer who met Cooper over Zoom in 2020 — responded with his own speech, which he paused during the delivery as he became emotional.

“We have done and will do big things together, that I already know. However, it’s the smaller moments, the moments that aren’t necessarily big events that have truly written our love story together,” he said. “It’s the conversations at 3:00 a.m. when we both can’t sleep, shrouded in darkness at night and thus able to speak more openly with one another. It’s the whiskeys in our yard on Friday nights after a long week.”

Addressing the Call Her Daddy host, he concluded, “You mean the world to me. Thank you for coming into my life. I love you.”

During the Tribeca Festival Q&A, Cooper described the moment as a particularly meaningful part of the series. “In the second episode, you will see parts of our vows from our wedding, which makes me cry every time,” she said.

The media mogul also discussed the unprecedented “level of exposure” that came with filming for the documentary and how she and her husband had to adjust accordingly.

“You’re really seeing me in my life with my husband. I know you guys know how private Matt and I usually are, but I think this was a goal to show a little bit more,” said Cooper.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
