Josh Peck is recalling the night he met a Drake & Josh super fan.
In a panel discussion reuniting the stars of the hit Nickelodeon series at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 8, 2025, 38-year-old Peck noted that hip-hop artist Kid Cudi was actually “a massive fan” of the show.
“Kid Cudi was a big fan of Drake & Josh. Which I didn’t know,” Peck, 38, explained. “But I was in some club … and I see a buddy, [actor] Bryan Greenberg, he’s on a show with Kid Cudi. I’m a massive fan. He was like, ‘Yo, let me introduce you. He’s great.’ I’m like, ‘No, don’t bother.’ It’s like when you see the cops on the street, like lemme just not make eye contact.”

Greenberg and Kid Cudi (whose real name is Scott Mescudi) both starred on the short-lived HBO series, How to Make it in America.
Peck explained that he then saw the rapper and began walking toward him to introduce himself. “So I’m walking up him to and he goes ‘AAAAAA, I love Drake & Josh.’ I’m like, ‘I love you Kid Cudi.’ And he’s like, ‘Call me Scott.’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to.’ So he’s like ‘Yo, take my number down, we should talk.’ And was like, cool, if this bubble comes up green tomorrow, I won’t be hurt.”

“The next day he texts me like, ‘Yo, what’s good. Whatcha doing?’ He’s like, ‘Oh, I’m about to go shopping on Rodeo Drive.’ I’m like, ‘Cool, I’m playing Xbox in my friend’s basement. So, samesies.’ And he invited me to come listen to his album and talk about Drake & Josh for three hours one night. It makes no sense,” Peck added.

Drake & Josh followed teenage stepbrothers Drake Parker (played by Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (played by Peck) as they live together despite their opposite personalities. The series aired from 2004 to 2007.
The stars of the show have publicly detailed their strained relationship since the show ended, with Bell publicly criticizing Peck for not inviting him to his 2017 wedding to Paige O’Brien. The two have since made amends and appeared at Nostalgia Con alongside the other cast members for the first time in more than 10 years.
