Dean McDermott Says Daughter Stella, 17, Is Officially a Licensed Driver
Dean McDermott’s daughter is officially on the road.
On Monday, June 9, the proud dad, 58, shared a photo on his Instagram of his daughter Stella, 17, and announced that she “aced” her driving test. Stella could be seen wearing a black tank top with pink lace, which matched the black and pink streaks in her blonde hair.
“My Baby Girl Drives Now !!!” McDermott proudly proclaimed in his caption. “She aced her driving test, not a single mistake!! So proud of her!! But still be careful when you’re on the sidewalk. 👀🚙.”

Tori Spelling, with whom McDermott shares five of his kids, including Stella, also shared the photo on her Instagram and wrote a message in support of her teenage daughter.
“Stella McDermott Accelerates,” wrote Spelling. “My girl @stella_mcdermott08 turned 17 today and got her drivers license!! Perfect score!”
“So proud. I’m having all the feels. Check out new episode of @misspellingpodcast ep Miss Stella License to Drive. Wherever you get your podcast jam on. 🚗🖤.”
McDermott and Spelling share sons Liam, 18, Finn, 12, and Beau, 8, as well as daughters Stella and Hattie, 13. McDermott is also dad to son Jack, 25, from a previous marriage.
In February, Spelling spoke exclusively with PEOPLE and shared how her daughter Stella had been dropping hints about getting a car.
“On her birthday in June, it’ll be six months, so she’ll be able to get her license,” Spelling told PEOPLE. “If I get one more notice from Facebook marketplace of what car she’s been researching — I’m like, ‘Oh boy, here we go.’ She’s super responsible. She’s a great driver.”
The proud mom also noted that her daughter is a “really skilled driver.”
In December, Spelling candidly opened up in an episode of her misSPELLING podcast about how she’s leaning on her older daughter amid her divorce from McDermott. She shared that her daughter Stella has been acting as a second mom to her other four kids as Spelling has adjusted to being separated from her ex-husband.
“Being a single mom and they’re with me, and their dad and I are super amicable and, you know, working through everything for the futures of separate families, but the kids live with me,” Spelling said. “I’m the primary caretaker.”
“And, as a single mom providing for them, there’s times when I’m working and I’m hustling. In the last three months, I’ve really been working my butt off, and I’m super grateful for that work,” she continued. “But it’s like, it’s been constant, and there were days, you know, my kids range from 17 to 7. The 17-year-old, a 16-year-old, a 13-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 7-year-old. And to be honest, and she calls herself this, my 16-year-old, who is my eldest daughter, has always said, I’m the second mom, and she really is.”
