Gayle King has received a surprise visit!
On Tuesday, June 10, the broadcaster, 70, spoke on CBS Mornings about how she and Oprah Daily Creative Director Adam Glassman crashed the wedding of a couple last month while on assignment for Oprah Daily.
After speaking about the incident, King was left in shock when the couple in question, Nicolaus Wegrzyn and Matt Kaplon, were brought on set to “crash CBS Mornings.”
“Oh, I am so glad to see you,” the journalist said. “The hotel was saying, ‘No, don’t go, they’ll be offended.’ This is what they told us, and I knew this wasn’t true. They told us that somebody had crashed the wedding earlier, which I did not believe.”
“No, you were the only one,” Kaplon reassured the host.
King continued, “They said somebody had crashed the wedding earlier and they did not want another disruption.”

Asked about their reaction to their wedding crash, Kaplon said, “So ya’ll showed up and I just remember hearing, ‘We’re looking for Nick and Matt, we’re looking for Nick and Matt’ and we turned and we were just like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s Gayle King.’ ”
“Our guests were just shocked and excited,” Kaplon continued.
Wegrzyn then added, “I think our initial reaction was, ‘We have to tell our moms.’ ”

King went on to say that she “felt bad” about not being dressed for the occasion due to wearing a sweatsuit.
“We were not dressed, but you guys looked great in white, and I said to Adam, ‘If they’re mad at us, we will apologize and get out of there very quickly.’ We did not want to steal anything away from the grooms or your moment,” she added
“No, we’ve gotten to relive that moment every day,” Wegrzyn insisted. “It was the best day of our lives, so why not relive it?”
Kaplon added that they were “just so grateful,” further noting, “We had so much joy that day. You brought so much more joy.”
The couple went on to say that the guests thought that they had planned the surprise moment at the wedding.
“My boss was like, ‘I didn’t know you knew Gayle King,’ ” Kaplon recalled.
He previously told PEOPLE that the moment “was incredible,” adding that King and Glassman “were treats.”
