Wendy’s Bacon and Burger Patties Are Available at Grocery Stores
NEED TO KNOW
- Wendy’s-branded bacon and burger patties are available at Kroger grocery stores
- The fast food chain confirmed to PEOPLE that the products are available in “some select markets”
- Wendy’s has released other grocery items, like its chili, over the past few years
You don’t need to leave your house to get a Wendy’s bacon cheeseburger.
The fast food joint launched two new grocery store products: double-smoked bacon and beef patties.
Eagle-eyed foodies posted about the “restaurant inspired” bacon at the end of May. Instagram user @markie_devo shared a photo of the “naturally smoked,” “extra thick cut” slices and explained that he saw them in the refrigerated section at a Kentucky Kroger store.
“Wendy’s is pursuing opportunities to bring our fresh, famous food to customers in new and exciting ways,” the fast food chain confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement. “Currently, Wendy’s fans in some select markets can pick up double smoked bacon at their local King Soopers or Kroger. Wendy’s fans can enjoy our famous bacon in our restaurants and at home!”
For fans of the Baconator, Wendy’s beloved menu item with two patties, six strips of bacon, American cheese, ketchup and mayonnaise, there are even more products to recreate the magic at home.
The Kroger-exclusive burgers were first spotted in early May by popular food Instagram accounts like @snackbetch.

Instagram users had mixed responses to the new product launches.
While some have commented that the restaurant’s bacon is “always 🔥🔥🔥,” others didn’t see the allure of this product. “It’s just bacon tho?” one person wrote and another questioned, “Is that really Wendy’s bacon?”
Fans wrote that they want to see bottled barbecue sauce and frozen chicken nuggets from the brand in the future.
This is not the first time Wendy’s has taken its food from the drive-thru and to grocery shelves.
The restaurant chain announced that it was canning its beloved chili and selling it at retailers nationwide in April 2023. In partnership with Conagra Brands, cans of Wendy’s chili with beans were dropped at grocers and online retailers in spring 2023 and sold for $4.99. The grocery store chili was even crowned a champ in PEOPLE’s 2023 Food Awards.
