Tia Mowry Confirms End of ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’ (Exclusive)

Tia Mowry is ready to move on from her reality series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act.

During an exclusive interview on the red carpet at the 2025 BET Awards on June 9, the Sister, Sister alum, 46, confirmed the We TV series was always set to end after one season, sharing, “It was a limited one-time run.”

“It was kind of like a docuseries for me,” she explained. “Again, it was about the inspiration right behind it. My goal was for women to not necessarily feel like they are alone. So I just wanted to open up my world just for a little bit and just share some vulnerability and vulnerable moments.”

“But I’m very proud of what we did, and I can close that chapter and now onto the next,” she continued.

Mowry said she is now in her “peaceful era” following her split from Cory Hardrict in October 2022 after 14 years of marriage.

The actress shared that “peace is something that you have to work towards. And once you receive it, it is such a wonderful place to be at.” 

She continued: “And I don’t think you find peace in trying to control and trying to hold on. You find it in letting go and just trusting God. And I can just see my life evolving. And I can say I’m on the other side and it feels great.”

The reality series showed Mowry’s ups and downs following her divorce from Hardrict, which was finalized in April 2023. It also chronicled how she managed motherhood and co-parenting while focusing on her career and rediscovering her sense of self.

“Everything that I do, I’m intentional when it comes to my why, so I’m all about empowerment, all about inspiring, all about just helping, educating in any way that I can,” Mowry previously told PEOPLE in February.  

Highlighting how the We TV show is nominated at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, the actress said, “To see that it was recognized, I was not looking for that at all.”

“It really touched my soul that this show was and has been received, noticed, heard and supported,” she added. “I’m just grateful.”

As for Mowry’s next chapter, the television star isn’t opposed to the idea of a reboot of Sister, Sister.

“Yeah, I mean, never say never,” she told PEOPLE in February of a potential reboot. “I’m just a huge believer in that, meaning I don’t have a crystal ball, but never say never.”

Mowry famously starred in the beloved sitcom, which aired for six seasons from 1994 to 1999, alongside her twin sibling, Tamera Mowry-Housley. The pair portrayed twins who were separated at birth and each adopted by a different parent. After a chance meeting at a shopping mall, Tamera’s father Ray Campbell (Tim Reid) allows Tia and her mother Lisa Landry (Jackée Harry) to move into his home so the girls can be together.

While fans may be super keen for a Sister, Sister revival, Mowry might prefer that the Landry-Campbell family’s TV farewell remain final. “I will say this: It was such a beautiful, amazing show, and a part of me also just wants to leave it there. You know what I mean? Let it be,” she explained.

“But it was so wonderful and so amazing. So I feel like, to be honest with you, I also have that feeling as well,” she added. “So I’m like, okay, never say never, but it was such a great show and I wouldn’t want to mess it up in any kind of way. It’s a classic.”
