Paris Hilton Sets the Record Straight on Her Pizza Grease Hack (Exclusive)

Paris Hilton is setting the record straight.
The media personality, 44, shared her reaction to her viral pizza grease video while speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the world premiere of her new movie The Trainer at the Tribeca Festival at SVA Theatre in New York City on Saturday, June 7.
In the TikTok video, the “Cooking with Paris” star demonstrated her hack to remove excess grease from pizza. She pressed the top of the pizza slice against a cardboard pizza box as a creative method to remove the oil.
“That’s my trick,” the socialite said with a smile, before picking up the slice and taking a bite while shimmying her shoulders.

However, people in the comments shared their concern over her technique and pointed out that the outside of pizza boxes tend to be dirty surfaces. But nonetheless, Hilton stands by her trick.
“It was a brand new pizza box, so it wasn’t from some random place,” she says on the red carpet. “[The pizza box] was for the photo shoot.”
Hilton continues to insist: “It is a good hack.”
Hilton stars in The Trainer alongside Julia Fox and Vito Schnabel.
Directed by Tony Kaye, the movie follows Schnabel’s Jack Flex as he attempts to get his eccentric fitness gadget featured on his mother’s favorite home shopping channel. When he gets entangled in a web of lies, he finds himself on a frantic journey through Los Angeles.
“I’ve been friends with Vito for many, many years,” Hilton tells PEOPLE at the premiere. “He called me and said, ‘Paris, you are the missing piece to this movie. I would really appreciate so much if you would be a part of it.’ So it took a little bit of working on my schedule, but we did it and it’s such a fun cast. I’m really just proud of and excited for him.”

The iconic duo reminisced about their Sonic days on the hit 2000s reality show The Simple Life, which followed them as they navigated minimum wage jobs and everyday experiences.
They briefly worked at Sonic while filming an episode in 2003.
“We were only there for one day because we got fired, but we had the best time” Hilton told PEOPLE. “We ate a lot. We took a lot of lunch breaks.”
“And the food is delicious,” Richie added.
